Emerging Women Filmmakers Incubator

The Incubator is a talent-focused development programme structured over five one-day workshops across a year. While directors come to the Incubator with a project, our main aim is to provide specific knowledge, skills, connections and inspiration to enable each participant to advance themselves and their careers.

“It is hard to quantify how much I learned and grew over the year. And how I finally feel I have a better grip on the NZ film and TV biz (with much more to discover). This lab is not for the faint of heart as you are stretched beyond your comfort zone, but this growth better prepares you for success while teaching resilience for this weird and high-risk calling we have to be filmmakers.”

Michelle Savill to Direct on Netflix Hit Series Sex Education

,
Congratulations to DEGANZ member and Incubator alum Michelle Savill who is directing on the fourth series of much loved Netflix series Sex Education. Season 4 is currently filming in Wales. While not much is known about what episodes or how…

“Being a part of the DEGNZ’s Incubator has been a highly motivating and encouraging experience. It is rare to get a chance to talk frankly with such experienced practitioners, but this programme created a space in which such useful dialogue could take place. The Incubator also provided regular meetings with other filmmakers at the same stage in their career.”
