Our Core Services
The Directors & Editors Guild of New Zealand represents the creative, cultural and financial wellbeing of all New Zealand directors, editors and assistant editors. Because of the COVID-19 crisis, we are extending our membership to all New Zealand directors, editors and assistant editors, whether or not they can afford to pay membership fees. It is more important than ever that we come together for support, assistance, advice and information at this crucial time and as we navigate the future. Together we can do this.
We understand that you may have lost some or all of your work due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We have decided to extend our Membership Holiday scheme until 31 January 2021. If you are facing financial hardship, we want to support you with a free Associate membership until 31 January 2021. For those who can afford it, we ask that you please support DEGNZ by continuing to pay your membership fees.
This offer is based on an honesty system.
We are offering Membership Holidays between now and 31 January. All current members who were granted a Membership Holiday until 1 October 2020 will have their fee holiday automatically extended to this new date, but can choose to restart paying fees at any time. If you receive a Membership Holiday, your membership will be due for paid renewal on 31 January 2021.
For Current Members
I pay annually – You can request a Membership Holiday as your renewal date approaches. Instructions will be emailed in your renewal notices.
I pay monthly – You can request a Membership Holiday between now and 31 January 2021. Receiving a Membership Holiday will stop your monthly payments altogether. When your membership holiday ends on 31 January 2021, you will be able to select which membership level you want to renew on. You won’t be expected to pay the remainder of your last 1-Year Membership, Paid Monthly.
For New Members
If you can afford the membership fees, please fill out the Member Sign-Up Form below and make payment for your chosen membership level. If you are suffering financial hardship, choose the level Associate Member – Membership Holiday.
For Lapsed Members
If your membership lapsed this year or in 2019 and you can afford the membership fees, please use the Member Sign-Up Form below and make payment for your chosen membership level. OR If you are suffering financial hardship, send us a request instead by completing a COVID-19 Membership Holiday Request Form.
If your membership lapsed prior to 2019 and you can afford the membership fees, please use the Member Sign-Up Form below and make payment for your chosen membership level. OR If you are suffering financial hardship, choose the level Associate Member – Membership Holiday.
All memberships cover one year from the day you join, renew or change your membership level.
Members paying monthly will be reminded of their annual renewal date as it approaches and may contact the Guild to change level or cancel at this time.
