Screenlink: Inside the Engine of Mortal Engines

Join 1st Assistant Editor/VFX Editor Dan Best for the rare chance to have an informal look inside the engine room of a multi million dollar VFX heavy feature. Dan will share on handling the logistics involved, the big editorial team required, media walkabout, the skills, the deadlines. The highs and lows of big projects, and surviving a long, long timeframe.

For this Screenlink, DEGNZ will be partnering with our friends at WIFT. Morning tea will be served on arrival. Talk starts at 11am.

Screenlink: Screen Content for the Global Market

On July 15, DEGNZ, SPADA and WIFT warmly invites members to join us for a conversation on developing, producing and selling content that will have international appeal. Come and hear insights from a panel who have each achieved success in the international market.

Hear from Mark McNeill of Razor Films, executive producer of Dark Tourist, New Zealand’s only Netflix Original series to date; Paula Boock of Lippy Pictures, coming off the success of German-NZ co-production The Gulf with global distribution by Banijay Rights; and Steven Zanoski of Filthy Productions, which produced Bad Mothers for Australia and sold the format of Filthy Rich to Fox Network starring Kim Cattrall. They join moderator producer/writer Christina Milligan.

DEGNZ, WIFT and NZWG invite members for drinks and snacks and to hear leading NZ producer Philippa Campbell (Rain, No. 2, Rubbings From A Live Man) speak to her experiences on two series of Top of the Lake, written by Jane Campion and Gerard Lee, Series One directed by Campion and Garth Davis, and Two by Campion and Ariel Kleiman.
